There are many reasons and advantages to getting a fitness or functional movement test done before embarking on a training or event preparation program. Having a starting point to work from with and end goal to work towards enables the programmer, coach or individual athlete to set a course of actions and responsibility needed to achieve the desired goals. Without a pre test and later retest there is just no way of knowing what part of training or lack thereof contributed to the result.
